Igor Paspalj started playing guitar at age of 13, influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen, and Joe Satriani, among the others. After completing primary and High school of music, he enrolled at the University of Music in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he acquired Master degree in Music Theory, and Harmony and with analysis.
Among numerous bands he performed during the last 25 years, Igor joined the progressive band “Heaven Rain” as a leading guitarist in 2006. They released together debut album, “Far and Forever”, on 2008 for independent indie record company - Moonwolf Records. The first solo album by Igor Paspalj, “Gravity”, was also released by the same label in 2010.
As a guitarist, he achieved some noticeable results in various guitar competitions over the years. At the “Guitar Idol 2009” competition The Jury called his work "A gloriously over the top dramatic and film score type blend of neo-classical high emotion with great early Yngwie style playing – superb stuff… "
Apart from performing as a guitarist, he was a University professor at “The University of Music in Banja Luka”, BIH, for over 8 years - teaching music theory, counterpoint, and harmony with analysis. He also worked as a guitar teacher at “International Yamaha Music School” Branch in Banja Luka, BIH.
Currently, he is working full time as a session musician and studio musician in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE.
